As the name indicates, a solar phone battery charger utilizes the power of the sun (a.k.a solar energy) to supply electrical power to your devices or charge the battery. The advantage of these portable gadgets is that they do not need an external electricity source to operate, making them terrific for outside enthusiasts or people who many not have access to a power outlet right now (like if you're at a music festival in the middle of the desert or midway through a beautiful walking).

At the Great Housekeeping Institute, we test tech items from water resistant speakers to gas leakage detectors. To test solar charges, we take them to our basic light room and time how long it takes to totally charge each unit. Then, we see how long it takes to charge various devices over 400 hours of battery draining pipes over our most recent testing.
